Dance for Natalie Fundraiser

Natalies Story:

Natalie (13 years old) was diagnosed with a very rare form of spinal cancer called Chordoma at the beginning of 2011 when she was just 10.

There was no medical help for her in South Africa, so the family went to Boston for treatment for Natalie where she had several surgeries. The top line of her story is that they removed almost half of her thorasic spine. Natalie was seen as a medical miracle and the family returned to South Africa in October 2011.

Unfortunately, everything went south in April 2012. The family went back to Boston where Natalie had further surgery, however, the fantastic doctors at Mass General Hospital were not able to clear all the tumor. Since August last year, Natalie has been in palliative care, which is care for comfort and not for a cure.

Natalie has a phenomenal ability to overcome immense obstacles despite her limitations. She has inspired an active and diverse global network of people who hold her with love in their hearts. She has changed many lives and has inspired so many to live their lives with compassionate joy.

To learn more about her story, there is an awesome website which you can visit – www.nataliescircleoflove.org

Flash Poets had the privilege to contribute in a small way at the fundraiser held at Zula Bar involving family and friends and whole lot of dancing!

UCT Business Graduation Celebration

The Crypt, a classy jazz restaurant nestled under St Georges Cathedral, set the tone of celebration for UCT Business graduates. With the resident jazz band reenforcing the Gatsby theme, fun and celebration was in the air!

Allan’s 50th Celebration

The Grand set the scene for an awesome 50th birthday bash. Tons of family and friends and a great live jazz band got guests moving. Not only did we cover the event documentary style, but also rocked our studio photo booth with instant polaroid style prints. A huge thanks to the Hamman’s for making Flash Poets a regular at family events!

Digby & the Lullaby

Flash Poets captured beautiful moments of the local duo ‘Digby & the Lullaby’ at an intimate venue tucked away within Canal Walk. Smooth, romantic, acoustic melodies washed over the crowd and the love the two singer/songwriters have for each other was obvious, giving their lyrics an authentic punch to the heart. Be sure to like them on Facebook HERE to make sure you don’t miss the next gig!

Sunny Skies Candid Preschool Shoot

Traditional school portraiture photos can get a little boring, thats why I feel natural candid pics come across a bit more genuine. These little cuties at Sunny Skies preschool turned out to be great models and no posing was necessary as they played, learned and enjoyed themselves at school. Those were the days, carefree and jam packed with sweet things and fun. These will be memories cherished years down the line.
